The 6th and 8th grade examination preparation, administration, and management system workshop organized jointly by the Dire Dawa Education Bureau and Dire Dawa University was held successfully.
The workshop was attended by esteemed individuals such as Mr. Kedir Juhar, the Mayor of Dire Dawa; Mr. Sultan Aliy, Head of the Dire Dawa Education Bureau; Mr. Abdulaziz Shafi, Head of the Dire Dawa Science and Technology Bureau; and Dr. Ubah Adem, President of Dire Dawa University, along with senior officials, experts, and invited leaders and supervisors from private and public schools.
During the event, Mr. Kedir Juhar, the Mayor of Dire Dawa, emphasized the importance of integrating technology with the education sector to advance in the future. He also appreciated the support provided by Dire Dawa University in this regard.
The Mayor mentioned that Dire Dawa is working in collaboration with Ethio Telecom to transform the city into a fully modernized city by 2024.
Mr. Sultan Aliy, Head of the Dire Dawa Education Bureau, stated that the system presented today by Dire Dawa University, in alignment with digital technology goals, will significantly enhance the services provided by the bureau. He emphasized the priority of providing efficient and quick services by implementing various systems. He also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all stakeholders involved in making the examination system successful.
On the same day, the 6th and 8th grade examination preparation and management system was officially launched by assigning student identification numbers in the presence of Mayor Kedir Juhar, Mr. Sultan Aliy, and Dr. Ubah Adem.
In conclusion, Dr. Ubah Adem, President of Dire Dawa University, expressed her heartfelt joy at the successful completion of the program, reiterating the university's commitment to advancing education through technology. The examination program has reached its conclusion.

Science Innovation Exhibition
The head of the bureau, Mr. Sultan Ali, stated that everyone should work diligently to contribute to the quality of education by enhancing the ability to innovate beyond learning and teaching.
The Dire Dawa Education Administration Bureau has completed the final competition and exhibition of science and technology innovation works prepared by students and teachers.
In this exhibition, students and teachers from 17 different schools presented their innovative works. From rural areas, only the Goro Dertu Primary School from Aseliso Cluster participated.
During the three-day exhibition and competition, various innovative works and technologies were presented, including different machines, sports equipment, three-wheeled vehicles, various crafts made from discarded plastic, bread ovens, and more.
Mr. Sultan Ali, head of the Dire Dawa Education Administration Bureau, said that with the presence of bright and capable teachers and students in Dire Dawa, an institution that follows the process of innovation is being established. This institution will provide a great opportunity for teachers and students with innovation skills to contribute to scientific innovation.
By implementing the learning and teaching process effectively, we can ensure that our students showcase their deep abilities in various innovative works. The bureau is also working diligently to ensure that the works are supported by technology.
The innovative works presented at the exhibition are promising and inspiring. The Education Bureau stated that they will continue to promote and strengthen innovative activities in the upcoming new year 2017EC.
The competition included 40 innovative works aimed at improving the lives of farmers and city dwellers, various technological skills, and other innovations.
In the end, the competition winners among the primary schools were Mariam Sefer Primary School in first place, Kezira Primary School in second place, and Hidasie Primary School in third place.
Among the secondary schools, Mariam Sefer Secondary School came first, Legahar Secondary School came second, and Dire Dawa Comprehensive Secondary School came third. In the teachers' category, Hidasie School's teacher won the life award. The top three students received cash prizes ranging from 5,000 to 3,000 birr and certificates.
